A QR code for the page you are on, instantly

Click the extension and it is already there — a scannable code for the current tab, ready to download or point a phone at. Change the address if you want a different one, set your colours, pick a transparent background for overlaying on a design, and download a PNG at up to 2048 pixels.

Scan with your camera, or straight from the page

Hold a code up to your webcam and it decodes live, or capture a QR code displayed on the page you are already looking at. The camera runs on a dedicated page, switches off the moment a code is read, and no video is ever recorded or sent anywhere.

Scanning that tells you where the code actually goes

A QR code is opaque by design: you cannot see what is inside until you follow it. That is precisely why QR phishing works — a sticker placed over a genuine code sends people somewhere they never intended.

It also finds every code in view rather than just the first. A page can easily carry several — a comparison table, a menu of payment options, a sheet of tickets — and most scanners return whichever they hit first and quietly discard the rest. This one lists them all and lets you choose.

This extension decodes the code and then explains what it found before you open anything. It blocks payloads that execute code rather than opening a page, flags look-alike domains built from non-Latin characters, spots brand names planted in a subdomain such as paypal.com.secure-login.xyz, and calls out link shorteners that hide the real destination. Nothing opens on its own — you see the destination and decide.

Nothing leaves your device

The extension makes no network requests. Codes are generated and decoded by code bundled inside the extension itself, running locally. That matters here more than for most tools, because QR payloads routinely carry Wi-Fi passwords and personal contact details.

It installs with two permissions and no more: activeTab, which reveals the current tab's address only at the moment you click the extension, and storage for your settings. Camera access is not part of the install: Chrome asks for it separately, only if you choose to scan with the camera, and you can revoke it at any time. There is no content script and no access to your browsing history.
